Rotary Read Along has been a fabulous initiative for Bishop Abraham. Our students really enjoy the visits from the guest readers. Our Rotary readers are excellent role models for our students & the time they give to us is much appreciated by both students & staff.It is a fine example of a small act of kindness making a tremendous positive impact.

First of all I would like to thank you for the opportunity of being involved in the Read-A-Long program. It is such a joy to go in to the classrooms and share time, read to them and to experience the wonderful interaction with the little ones. Let me congratulate you and your members of Rotary on such a wonderful job you are doing, not only for the children, but the joy it brings to my friends and myself, in sharing these times...

I knew joining Rotary would open so many doors both personally and professionally for me. However, I never knew that reading to children would give me such a sense of giving and a feeling of pride in what Rotarians do. I think all children, no matter the age, are so impressionable. Going to local schools and children seeing invited guests to their school, through their eyes we are “very important people”. Most times the children are not really sure who we are and what we are...

We are delighted to be a part of the Rotary Read-Along Program and are looking forward to your visit to St. Teresa's School on Tuesday. This program is fantastic! Last year our teachers and students were so very impressed with the readers who took time out of their busy schedules to come and share a story with our classes. Not to mention the books..... with many fabulous titles which included award winning authors and illustrators...

The children really enjoyed the volunteer readers today from Rotary Read-a-long. They really loved asking questions about the books but also about the readers themselves. And there were lots of surprises!. Constable Nixon used his nightstick as a magic wand when he was reading to the grade 1s about a witch and pure magic filled the room. We had a delegation of boys joyfully escort one of the Memorial Seahawks back to the office after they had listened to him read ..
